VOLUNTEER WITH US
Our mission to conserve and protect the Perhentians Islands' marine ecosystem would not be complete without your help!
You will become part of the PMRS team and help our dedicated staff to collect data on coral reefs, seagrass beds, and marine life whilst also experiencing the local culture on the islands.
This volunteer programme is perfect if you are keen on improving your diving skills or interested in learning conservation and stakeholder engagement. We are delighted to welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and cultures and can't wait to have you on the team!
WHAT TO EXPECT
FUN DIVE PROGRAM
DAY 1
Village and staff presentation. Then, enjoy lunch in the jetty with an amazing view of the sea. The afternoon is dedicated to an introduction to the various projects of our organisation, a safety briefing, equipment fitting, followed by a session of water confidence. Finally in the evening, we prepare the dinner for you and then make a brief and a theory session on the next day’s program.
DAY 2
We invite you to a breakfast with PMRS’s team. Then, enjoy two sessions of diving : one dedicated to coral identification, the other one to fish identification. To keep going, we're eating to continue our day. The afternoon, we debrief the two dives and compile our logbooks. In the evening enjoy a malay dinner at a local's home.
DAY 3
For this last day, we start the day by having breakfast all together. Next, we invite you to a third dive dedicated to an underwater clean-up followed by a debrief. To end, we have lunch together before saying goodbye.
